Divorce is one of the most stressful life

events a person can experience!

If you are facing divorce, you are not alone.  With the divorce rate in America at 50% or more, many couples are dealing with the same issues and uncertainty that you now face.

  • ·        Will I get custody of my children?
  • ·        Will I have to pay child support if the court does not award custody to me?
  • ·        How does visitation work?
  • ·        Will I be able to keep the marital home?
  • ·        How will our other property be divided?
  • ·        Who will be responsible for all of our bills?
  • ·        Am I entitled to alimony?
  • ·        My spouse has threatened me and I’m afraid for myself and my children.  What can I do to protect myself and my kids?
  • ·        What if I can’t afford a divorce attorney?
  • ·        What if I want the divorce, but my spouse doesn’t?

These are only a few of the questions you may be asking yourself.  When you sign up for my FREE DIVORCE NEWSLETTER, you will receive general answers to these and other common questions about divorce.  But, please keep in mind that every divorce is unique and there are no simple and quick answers.  That’s why you need a qualified and dedicated divorce attorney on your side – someone who will answer your questions and explain how the divorce process works in California.

Contested vs. Uncontested

There are two types of divorce – contested and uncontested.  In a nutshell, if you and your spouse agree on ALL issues, the divorce is uncontested.  On the other hand, if you and your spouse are unable to agree on every issue, the divorce is considered a contested matter and the judge or jury will decide any issues on which you and your spouse are unable to agree.

In my FREE DIVORCE NEWSLETTER, you will learn more about the process for obtaining an uncontested divorce and why it takes much less time than a contested divorce.  You will also learn how child support amounts are determined, the factors courts consider in deciding custody issues, about alternatives to traditional divorce such as legal separation, annulment, and collaborative divorce, and much, much more.

Because there is so much at stake, you should hire a divorce attorney!

Many divorces are very emotionally charged and oftentimes the parties simply cannot see beyond their anger, resentment, sadness, and fear.  Unfortunately, these emotions frequently cloud sound judgment and the ability to see the big picture.  With so much at stake, making emotional, rather than rational, decisions is not a good idea because those decisions will follow you for a lifetime.

Whether your divorce is contested or uncontested, your Central Valley Divorce Attorney will work zealously to get you the best possible outcome under the circumstances.  Although there is no way to guarantee the outcome in any case, with over ten years of experience handling divorce cases in Fresno, the Central  San Joaquin Valley, and surrounding areas, the attorneys at the Law Office of Rick D. Banks are adept at analyzing the issues and predicting possible outcomes in divorce cases.
